The same 45 kg/m³ medium-firm EVA as the full-length roller, cut to twelve inches. It goes in a bag with room left over and it works on a calf, a quad or a lat without needing floor space to lie down on.
The trade is stability: a short roller wants to tip when you cross the midline, so a thoracic pass takes more control on this than on the 36. If the roller lives at home, buy the long one.

Care
- Wipe down with a damp cloth and a little mild soap after use.
- Air dry before it goes back in a bag. Closed-cell foam does not absorb, but a wet surface still grows a smell.
- Store out of direct sun. UV is what turns moulded foam chalky.
